Quezaltepeque - San Salvador 48-66 Liga MB top team - San Salvador (3-0) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they beat sixth ranked Quezaltepeque (1-2) 66-48. They outrebounded Quezaltepeque 40-27 including 29 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of American swingman Andravious Smith (198-1995, college: Tougaloo) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds. Panamanian Alejandro Grant (199-1993) contributed with 15 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Dominican forward Cristian Duran (201-1996, college: Tenn Tech) replied with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds and Guatemalan Jose Barahona (189-1999) added 13 points in the effort for Quezaltepeque. San Salvador have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 3-0 record. Quezaltepeque at the other side keeps the sixth place with two games lost. Even 9 points and 7 rebounds by American-Colombian center Freddy Asprilla (206-1988, college: Canisius) did not help to save the game for Santiagueno. Santiago Esperanza (185-1993) added 10 points for lost side. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Santa Tecla moved-up to second place, which they share with Metapan. Loser Santiagueno dropped to the sixth position with two games lost. They share it with 3 other teams.
